We notice it more while playing games. The compuer will stop responding for 20 seconds or so and than start again, over and over again. I am so desperate to fix, that when a restore back 2 months didn't help I did a factory restore yesterday, I have updated my vidio drivers, lowered my pixals, and color to 16 bit. Lowered my refresh rate to 60, and lowered my hard ware acceleration. Nothing has helped. I was just reading in the help files about Bios. and that if that is not updated will cause problems. What is bios? And how do I find out what mine is to see if it does need updateing?
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Eileen:confused:

BIOS is the built-in program on a chip on the motherboard inside the tower, and it controls windows communication with hardware. Doubt it's responsible.

Most likely cause is insufficient memory, which can lead to swapping files onto the hard disk, which slows performance. The solution, if that's the cause, is installing memory, which means you probably should have an experienced friend or a shop do it.

Make and model of your machine would help, or google Belarc and download and run it; it will tell you what you need to answer the question of how much memory you have, and the make and model of your motherboard.

Another possibility is a program or even a baddie running in the background. But first things first.
