keyboard was working fine...woke up from sleep mode as i always do...no lights on keyboard...keyboard has usb and ps2 connections, checked all connections, reseated, rebooted and still no go.swapped in another ps2 keybord...no go. keyboard does Not show up in device manage...mouse and other usb devices are working fine.keyboard drivers are all there as well.on reboot num, cap, and scroll light do flash on for a second which rules out any connection problem.

The only thing different that i could see was maybe a new windows update had installed..so i tried a system restore prior to the update..still no luck.Tried searching for a solution..no go there either.I'm usually pretty good at figuring ths stuff out...but I am stumped and need some ideas..could this be a controller issue of some sort? Using the on screen keyoard is no fun...lol

    Thanks in advance...Scuby

Hi there Scuby, and welcome to the Windows BBS.
I don't have a solution for you, but was wondering if the Keyboard was showing up in Control Panel (Keyboard Icon).
In your BIOS do you have USB Keyboard enabled.

I am beginning to believe that the controller in the motherboard is bad...all signs point to that being the problem.

Does the keyboard work if connected to USB port instead of PS/2?

Did you install an update from IdeaCom?
Look for it in Device Manager under Human Interface Devices (HID).

Check if you can go into the BIOS/startup settings or pressing F8 to go to the Startup Options menu before Windows starts to load.

You could try "clearing the CMOS" (read about it in the motherboard/system manual).

If the LEDs flash at startup, I would not give up hope.
