I recently upgraded from 4.79 to 7.0 and now my multimedia keyboard redirect buttons won't work. I get the error message "Applet NSNetKey notinited ". I'm running Windows 98SE with a HP internet keyboard. What happened during the upgrade that caused this problem? Please advise. Thanks.

    Hi dixieartist

IF there is a reinstall disk for the keyboard try it. With luck it will recognize the presence of N7.
Try going to Hp site and see if there is a keyboard map/key assignment option.
Last, look for a keyboard mapping or macro program. I'm just throwing out suggestions.

reinstalling the keyboard doesn't help. I think the trouble has something to do with Java because the Java Console popped up when I pushed one of the redirect buttons and the error message mentions something about an applet. Nav. 7.0 must have some java component that needs to be edited.

    Hi dixieartist,

Can you give us the exact error message, as that would be most helpful.

Do you have the latest drivers installed for your keyboard?

What Version of Java are you using? Is it the Version that was included in Netscape 7.0, or have you installed the SunJava Plugin from Sun's site. I ask because Netscape 7.01 comes with an old version of Sun Java (1.4.0_01). Try upgrading Sun Java to the newer Version 1.4.1_01.

Have you tried disabling Java, and if so, what happens?

    Let us know... and thanks!

    Ramona :D
