The scroll bar issue you're talking about isn't really a bug. It was designed to do that. They have now made the scroll bar distance sensitive. If you click closer to the scroll bar it'll only scroll one page. In my opinion, it wasn't very well thought out. Most people put there cursor at the bottom of the scroll bar (me included) and just continue to click to page down. The way it is now you have to click close to the scroll bar to page down and then move the cursor in order to page down again. It's now a worthless feature as far as I'm concerned. That said, I did some searching on the net about this and it seems you can uninstall the update by clicking start>run and copy and paste the following line in.

    c:\windows\ieuninst /q c:\windows\inf\q824145.inf

Don't know if it works or not as I have not tried it myself. I'm not sure what the copy and paste problem is. Haven't noticed anything on my computer when it comes to this.

    I don´t think so.

The swedish version of kb824145 that I downloaded on november 12 is exactly the same as the current one.

Now that Zander discuss the scroll bar, I too notice the difference!

thanks zander. about the scroll bar i never really used it that way. i would either drag it or click on the top or bottom buttons. but i noticed today when i'm replying to a post like right now the scroll bar in the box i am typing in is ******* up. if i just click on the top or bottom button. it goes all the way down to the bottom or top. if i keep clicking to get to the position i want it will not stay there it will either go all the way down or all the way up. i hope you understand what i am trying to say.

Does it work for you if you click just below or above the scroll bar? If so, it's like I said, not a very well thought out change. There's really no way to change the way it acts (that I know of anyway). You either live with it or you can try the uninstall routine and see if that works. Hopefully, they'll change this some time in the near future. I've seen and heard a lot of complaints about it. Maybe MS will too.

zander , yes it works if i click over or under the scroll bar but it almost goes the whole page. the thing about the copy is. if you high lite a large area of text and you use the scroll bar to check what you just highlited the text is not highlited anymore. i don't know if that's normal or not but i think i read somewhere that was one of the bugs with the update.

I see what you mean by the copy thing. I hadn't noticed it before. Now that I've played with it a bit, I see (on mine anyway) it doesn't always act the same. Sometimes, when I grab the scroll bar, I lose the highlighted text without even sliding it. Sometimes I can scroll and it'll jump back to where I started from when I release the scrollbar, and still other times I can slide it down, release it, and it stays where it was when I released the slide bar and the highlighted text stays that way. But..... as soon as I click on the scroll bar again I lose the highlighting. If I slide it down and the highlighting stays, as soon as I reverse directions (without releasing the scrool bar) I lose the highlighting. So it would appear that you're not the only one. :)

yes when i first read about the problems with that patch that was one of the bugs mentioned. i also read that if you removed the patch everything would go back to the way it was.but in my case it did not. it's funny if i never read about this stuff i probably wouldn't have even noticed the bugs.
