    Hello Everyone

I recently did a system restore that went 2 months back to get rid of a virus. Ever since then, I've been having problems with my iTunes. I uninstalled, re-installed , and did everything various internet websites told me to do yet I still have the problem. I deleted every Apple trace off of my computer, I used RevoInstaller, Windows Installer Cleanup utility and yet it still won't work. At first I tried to install Quicktime on its own and that didn't work. Then when I try to install iTunes it tells me that Quicktime couldn't install, and that its necessary for the itunes download. So the download quits and I'm back at square one.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your time

System Restore should only be used as a last resort. That is not the proper way to get rid of a Virus. Can you go back to the time before you did a restore and see what happens?

Hi, This may help: Go to Windows XP Download and install VBScript version 5.7 for Windows XP from Microsoft, and then try installing iTunes or QuickTime again.

Found this at Apple Quicktime Tech Support. Neil.;)

ps. I'm assuming you are using XP OS? It would pay to enter your System Details.

Oh sorry, I should have said that I'm using a Vista OS. I'll try to re-register the VBscript and see what happens

Okay, so that fixed Quicktime. Quicktime was able to install properly but iTunes installation didn't work.

Maybe just a guess, but why not create another user account and install itunes and use that. I have several different user accounts for different iPods. They all work.

Okay, so I went and re-installed iTunes and it worked! I guess when I was doing the stuff retiredlearner suggested, I forgot to restart. Anyways, it's working and it installed perfectly.

Thank you all for your help, it was very much appreciated. :)
