Recently I came across an issue with a clients computer where the background images and the formatting of websites are incorrect. For example the pretty blue fading background at MSN.com is not there and all of the categories on the page are just text with boxes around them. This is not a CSS issue and all of the accessibility settings have been vereified to be correct.

I have uninstalled the browsers (firefox and Iexp) and reinstalled and the issue remains.

Uninstalled java and reinstalled, and verified that there are no add-ons that may be affecting the visual settings of the users browsers.

When logging into a different profile (domain environment) the issue does not exist, it is strictly with the one user on the one computer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have you considered a corrupted user profile?

I wanted to save recreating this user's profile as a last resort incase anyone knew of some setting or modification that could cause this issue. It looks like I will just have to backup and recreate the user's profile then.
