Can anyone help? Since uninstalling AOL from my system, whenever I connect to the internet I lose the connection every 3 minutes. I have to keep re-connecting. What have I done?
    Lorna.

I would download and install RegCleaner . When you run it, look for any AOL entries and delete them. I would also check your modem/dialup properties, and look for "disconnect after x Minutes ", uncheck it. I'm guessing you didnt have this problem when you ran AOL?

Hi, I have run regcleaner but it hasn't made any difference. In dial up properties the disconnect box wasn't checked so I really don't know what the problem is. Thanks anyway.
I didn't have this problem when using AOL, and I also used a connection through virgin.net which was fine - this now disconnects every 3 mins.

By this it sounds like you got a new ISP and it started. Did they give you any software to install? I think I would contact them. On a far note, dont know where your located, but with all the storms lately, the phone lines could have been affected.

Can't believe how dim I've been. After lots of messing about I finally noticed that the box was checked to hang up after sending and receiving and it was set to check for messages every 5 minutes. I don't know why the settings were like this, I didn't do it and I've only had the problem for the last few days! Never mind, I'm just relieved that it seems to be sorted.
Thanks for trying to help, Lorna.

Glad you got it figured out. If you would have mentioned in your original post that this was happening with your mail.....
