    Hello,

Recently this logon problem poped up, in the logon screen I write my password then the screen changes to "loading your personal settings" and stops there, no hardware activity at all, I have to restart and do this procedure again untill maybe after the 3 restart then I will be lucky and log in succesfully. Any suggestions how I may solve this problems

    See if this applies: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=816873

I am concerned that this might be an early sign of hard disk troubles. The next time it happens do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and see if you can bring up Task Manger. I am curious if XP is freezing or if it is having a problem reading your user profile.

Second test: Create a new user. Logon as the new user. Does it freeze too?

Third test: Can you get it to happen if you start in Safe Mode?
