    Hello,

I installed Vista Ultimate and am now having problems with my internet connection. I have no problem in sharing files and printers with my other two computers and only the desktop with vista has this problem, the other two have windows XP pro SP2 installed. Disabling and Enabling Nic card solves the problem temporarily, after a couple of minutes the internet will not be available, only on the desktop with vista installed the other two still have an internet connection. I never experienced this problem when I had Wndows XP installed on this desktop,

    Any help please?

While this may not be the fix for you, the most common problems that I've seen with Vista are ISP related.

The usual fixes that work for me are:

    1) Disabling IPv6
    2) Disabling the DHCP Broadcast flag ( http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233 )

Disabling IPV6 and tweaking registry did solve my problem, great thanks.

From what I've seen of these issues recently, the ISP's involved are fixing it on their end as they become aware of the problem. The local ISP that caused me to research this issue has since fixed it's issues once I related the 2 possible fixes to one of their technicians.

In other words, you may be able to re-enable these in the future if you need them.

Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool = Here's a new free tool from Microsoft that will check your Internet router/NAT device to determine whether it supports advanced features such as face to face collaboration with Windows Meeting Space in Vista. The tool can be run on an XP or Vista computer. You can download it from the Microsoft web site at =
