    Hi

More out of curiosty, I wondered if anyone could suggest what improvements I could expect from a BIOS upgrade from my present 1997 version to the last version for my motherboard produced in 2000. Details below. I've looked again at the Intel website, but can find no mention of exactly what the BIOS upgrade can do over the original version.
I came across this subject whilst researching W95 / USB compatibility.
More generally, do any BIOS upgrades help with USB in W95 for example, or do USB products only work with W98+?

I realise that an up-to-date PC with a new operating system would allow me to do much more, but for now my W95 handles my work and images OK. I think my hard drive capability would need improving for W98.
This post is more for my own interest rather than any desire to get USB working.

    many thanks
    Andy

    At your own risk!

    chivers,

I'm answering this question because no one else has. If your computer is doing all you expect, you won't gain anything from a bios upgrade, and there is danger of damaging your computer. You need to be very knowledgable (re: DOS) to upgrade the bios.
