I have been attenpting to instal my web cam onto windows XP. The cd runs and the wise installer opens and runs, on completetion of the install iget an error message as follows.

You do not have access to make the required configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administration account.
As I am the only registered administrator on this machine??
    Help! Please

    mikaj,
Check that you have the latest XP driver for the Cam. Go to the Mfgrs site and check. Is it a driver install, or software install problem? I found with my Intel Web Cam that I only needed to install an XP driver and didn't worry about the extra software from the disk. XP displays the Cam without the 3rd party software.
    Try installing in Safe Mode?

Tghanks for that Paul, tried everything you said, but still no luck. Even in safe mode ans switched on as the Administrator, I still get the same message, telling me that I am not an administrator. I tend to think that the Cd has become corupted, teach me not to buy cheap gear.
    But thanks anyway.

Try creating another user login in the administrator group with all read/write privileges, just incase you have a strange (unusual I realise) problem with the Admin profile.

Thanks again Paul, but I have already tried that and many other things as well. I think this CD must be corrupted, as no matter what I have tried (with able assisstance from a friend) nothing seems to work.
