I just setup a new machine with Vista Home Premium for the first time. The new machine is a Dell Inspirion 530S with 2.5GHz processor and 4GB RAM. I have installed all current updates. I am trying to install Valusoft Ultimate Puzzles 1500 and everytime I launch the program I get the message "puzzle.exe has stopped working ". I had to drag and drop the program to install it after attempting to install it normally, per Valusoft instructions. Does anyone know if I can run these games using Vista because I had no problem using XP?

Well, that game isn't officially supported on Vista. I'd suggest you check out what they say on their Support site.

I looked at that first and did what they suggest, but it didn't work. I was hoping someone else may have found a work around. They suggest a drag and drop, but I still get the same error.

Try running the game in compatibility mode. Right-click the EXE, select the compatibility tab & choose Windows XP.

And if that doesn't work (and you desperately want this game to work), you can always either dual-boot, or even easier, run a copy of XP in a virtual machine ;)

compatibility mode should work lukeno1, my wife need this trick to run some games / applications ... try INSTALL the games giving ADMINISTRATOR permissions to all *.exe of instalation files. this step works to my wife run Ragnarok Online.

    Good Luck.
