Hi, I'm getting an error when I try and install Starcraft. I do not know if it is only for starcraft, but it seems that whenever I try to install something, there is never a shortcut in the start menu, the folder in the start menu for the new program is empty.

The problem with starcraft is that when I try and install the expansion, the error causes the install to mess up, and I can't use the program.

    This is the error:

Setup was unable to create the following link:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Starcraft\Starcraft.lnk
Error 0x0000007E: The specified module could not be found.
    (C:\Files\Installer\setup\LinkUndo.cpp:179)

    Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Windows BBS Forums Acyroma

Do you have administrator privileges when logged on to computer? This is required to install programs.

Yes, I do have admin. Also, this is on XP, in case anyone was wondering.

I have a couple of suggestions, concerns.
First, download / install / run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Read / follow instructions. Select ONLY Starcraft program from list.
Once removed, I question if Starcraft installation program may be corrupted. If a download, download a new copy. If CD, can it be returned / exchanged or a Internet download replacement.
It may help when installing, disconnect Internet wire connection, disable Firewall and A/V.
