Inkjet printer monotor

Where can I get the Monitor for an Epson 740 Inkjet Printer.
I tried the Epson site and they said that the monitor for 2000 would work but it dosent.I use XP Professional

 

I ran across this thread while searching for info on the Epson 640 status monitor, perhaps the same technique will work on your model.

"I've just been playing around with trying to install STM2 for a epson
SC640 printer in Windows XP. Firstly you need to download the STM2 for
windows 2000 - available on the USA and australian websites only.
Install the win2000 drivers for the printer. Now just extract the files
from the downloaded STM2 file to a temporary directory. If you just try
running setup.exe you will get an installation error.

Just browse to the directory where STM2 files have been extracted to.
right click on setup.exe file and select properties. Now select the
Compatibility Tab. Put a checkmark in compatiblity mode section and set the
compatibilty to Windows 2000. Now click on apply and then okay. double
click on setup.exe to install STM2. For my SC640, when I went to the
printing prefernces and clicked on the utilities tab and then clicked on
epson status monitor 2 icon, under the consumables Tab, the ink levels
were now reported. please note that for some reason, when printing,
print manager does not show the ink levels but I guess you may have to
set some other optiions.

Hopefully this trick should work for epson, sfc 640, 740, 900 etc. "
