I'm trying to increase my number of download from two to any amount more. I have an idea of what to do but I'm looking for some input from others that have done this. Any tips that may be provided will be usefull.

If you have a broadband connection, you may want to increase the number of connections. This is what I did (I get at least 6 simultaneous downloads now):

    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

    2. Locate the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

    3. On the Edit menu, click NEW then DWORD VALUE , and then add the following registry values (if not present already):

    "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server "

Give it a value of 00000010 (hex).

    "MaxConnectionsPerServer "

Give it a vlaue of 00000010 (again, hex).

    4. Quit Registry Editor.

    ----------------------------------------
A small program that will help you set these and other values for broadband without entering the registry is TCP/IP Optimizer at www.speedguide.net

Abraxas - Thanks for that. Hadn't run across that particular tweak before.

    Sure enough.
Note that Arie's tweak sets the value to 10 (decimal) and mine sets it to 10 (hex). There is no advantage to pressing the envelope by setting it too high. Try the decimal value first.
