    Hi there,

i was just wondering whether anyone could offer any solutions on a slight problem i am having. I wish to set up my computer (running Windows Server 2003 RC2 Build 3718) as a web server. My internet connection is on a LAN which goes through a router (Netgear DG814) sharing one DSL connection with a dynamic IP address. I have set up the router so it directs port 80 the computer which on the network is 192.168.0.2. The computer is runnig IIS 6 and the web server is enabled but un-assigned an ip (but still using default port 80).

Now when i try to connect to the computer on my intranet (using 192.168.0.2) it works fine, bringing the up the page as i expect. But when i try using the WAN IP either internally or externally it does not seem to work.

I have also tried this on Windows XP Professional but with no luck as well.

Can anyone see any faults with what i am doing. ie, missing something here. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.

    Thanks, WnXP2002.

Ps, if you need any further info just shout

Try a higher port # as your ISP may be filtering the default TCP ports. By testing externally do you mean you used a dialup connection or asked a friend?

Also double check the sharing permissions for the folder your web page is in.
