Within the last 2 to 3 days I have been receiving this message:

    IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error

The instruction at "0x7e2a5954" referenced memory at "0x23111d54 ". The memory can not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program.

I do not see any toolbars that have been added to IE; I have updated my virus checker (Symantec) and ran it in addition to SyperAntiSpyware and MBAM. The problem still exist.

Does anyone have any idea(s) on how I may eliminate this problem from my system? I would appreciate any and all replies and would thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sorry for not being more exact. The version I am using is Internet Explorer 6. Any help you may be able to give me will be most appreciated. Again, thanking you in advance.

I no longer have access to a box running IE 6, but this sort of problem is often caused by an add-on or BHO - Browser Helper Object which may have been installed unbeknown to you.

Given that you are running IE 6 on XP SP2 I suggest you disable all add-ons as outlined here ....

How to manage Internet Explorer add-ons in Windows XP Service Pack 2

If that resolves the problem re-enable one by one and test until the culprit is found.

    Some additional information here ....
