IE7 -about blank problem

    when I open IE7 my home page opens up but the left 1/4 of my screen is blank a right click in the blank area and clicking on properties shows url "about blank" right clicking and looking at sourcereveals the following:

    <html><style>html, body { OVERFLOW-Y: hidden; OVERFLOW-X: hidden; }</style></html>

    so far I have run AVG, CC Cleaner, and Spy Hunter!!!
    I have recently installed Google toolbar and Ant tool bar

    anyone know how I can get my full screen back

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    If this problem occurred at the time you installed the toolbars one of them is most likely the cause of the problem.

    Right click on the IE desktop icon > Start without add-ons. If this resolves the problem uninstall the Ant toolbar and test. The Google toolbar is generally trouble free, but if uninstalling the other does not solve the problem uninstall it and test.

    tried that, also removed and reinstalled IE& tried to do a restore & restore failed I am at a loss

    Does this phenomenon occur only on your home page? If so post the URL so that we can check how it displays on another computer.

    nope does it to all web pages. I have noticed that when I first load IE I can see a border line at the top left of the page, but once it loads I cant see the border any more. I also tried 5 different restore point going all the way back to sept. all failed

    about blank cured

    found the little devil that has been causing me sush pain
    a little thing called fast search in Sytem 32 files I deleted the following and everything is just fine now

    kbsrbazumhmtof.dll

    kbsrbazumhmtof.dll-uninst

    thanks Pete I got it "fast Search" in system 32 files ran the uninstall and deleted files
    kbsrbazumhmtof.dll

    kbsrbazumhmtof.dll-uninst

    everything good now

    Glad to hear that you managed to resolve the problem, but concerned that the file you mention - kbsrbazumhmtof.dll does not show up on Google. Probably too late to check the spelling now :)

    For your own peace of mind I suggest you read this and post the logs in the Malware & Virus removal forum for a check over. Give a brief precis of the problem above with particular reference to the file name.
