BladeTurbo--Many secure sites have an auto disconnect after a certain number of unactive minutes.
DialUp or Broadband connection to Internet?
If DialUp, there could also be an auto disconnect in your modem's settings after a period of no activity. Have a look at ControlPanel|Modem|highlight the modem's name|Properties|Connection tab. You will see an option to disconnect after x minutes of no activity. Uncheck the box and click Apply|OK to see if that helps. But this should affect connections to all sites and not just secure ones.
