When using a search engine such as Google or Alta Vista a script error message appears.:( Ran IE repair, fresh download of IE 6 and unchecked debugging to no avail. What is the recipe to correct the issue? Please advise. Thanks for your time.

Baghdad falls :) :)  What an historic day.

In IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced uncheck "Display a notification about every script error." This little "feature" is really only useful to web site developers. The rest of us don't really benefit from knowing about every script error made on his or her web site. ;)

"Display a notification about every script error" is unchecked. However script error messages appear. Strange:( .

    Hi, Lis ~

If you are referring to the small error icon in the status bar, if you double-click it, you will get a message box with the error code. Please copy and paste the contents here.

Below is a sample of my issue:

    IE script error

    line 135

    char 1

    code 0

    error syntax error

    url http//www.1stairfare.info

Do you want to continue running script on this page?

    yes or no

This error message has become a nuisance? Please advise. Thanks for your time.

    Hi, Lis ~

This one is simple. ;) The syntax is wrong in the URL. The web author used:

    http//www.1stairfare.info
    instead of
    http://www.1stairfare.info

    Their error, not yours. :p

Excellent. However I don't see any differece in the URL? Also, how do I know when the error is not mind? Thanks for your reply.

The difference was the colon, or in this case, the lack thereof.

You would know since 'syntax' is controlled by the content of the web page, the code actually, and not by the viewer.
