    Repair Internet Explorer.
With 9x and ME, go to Control Panel\Add Remove Programs, double click the Internet Explorer entry, a window will pop up, choose the Repair Option. Reboot when prompted.

With XP, to repair Internet Explorer is to have sfc check the system files by clicking on the Start Menu, then Run, and type in:
    sfc /scannow and press Enter.

    IE6 problems-cont.

Thanks for the tip.Did what you said, can't be repaired because of missing an updated version of this file: "scrrun.dll ".The system says that I have this version: "5.0.0.3715" but I need this version and up: "5.1.0.5010 ". I've downloaded the IE.6P1 from the Microsoft site.Where can I find this file?

    IE.6+Out.Exp freeze problems

Thanks for the link. The fix is complete, hope it will help.
    There are some more problems:

    1. example: at "disc.server" forums, reply window, the cursor "freezes" when I try to move it down the fields/lines.this happens with the "tab" and with the mouse.when I click on pushbuttons, everything "freezes "(not showing progress) and then snaps to a new screen.

2.Outlook Express takes a long time to open at startup and when I press on "new mail composing ".

    What OS version?

Have you dumped TIF & cookies recently?

Do you regularly update and run any spyware killers like Ad-aware or Spybot Search & Destroy?

Scandisk (or if an NT based system, chkdsk rather than scandisk) & defrag recently?

If 98 or ME, scanreg /fix from a DOS boot followed by scanreg /opt recently?

I'm sorry- I'm not very good with abbreviations.By "OS" you mean "operating system "? I have WIN.98 2nd edition(maybe will update to XP).But first I want to solve these nagging problems.
It all started after I downloaded recent WIN. updates.

Maybe you just need a real good cleanout. Restart in Dos Mode, use these commands at the prompt, pressing Enter at the end of each line. Two commands will appear to do nothing, if you get a folder not found, keep going.
    smartdrv
    deltree c:\windows\cookies
    deltree c:\windows\history
    deltree c:\windows\temp
    deltree c:\windows\localse~1\tempor~1
    deltree c:\windows\tempor~1
    deltree c:\windows\win386.swp
    scanreg /opt
    scanreg /fix

Type a Y that you want to delete. Check the spelling of the folders at this time.
Note the placement of \ and /, use the correct ones as I have them.
When you do the last command, and you get the message that 'windows has repaired your registy', reboot.
Everything deleted will be rebuilt when windows restart. These Win updates may be clogging your temp files, and all the above will clean them out.

Yup. OS is operating system in this case. And nothing at all wrong with 98SE. Good OS. I was asking because some of the repair things are completely different for the various versions of windows.

Do you run MSN Messenger? If so, is the version later than 4.6? I have read about a memory leak in earlier versions that would cause one of your errors (invalid page fault in module OLE32.DLL).

Office 97 on Win98 offers other possibilities if you happen to be using that version.

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:004a861a

I hate these page faults in <unknown>. Tough to track down. Is the address always 0000:004a861a or does it change every time?
