    I am having a problem installing IE5.

    When I click on the setup icon, I get a message stating that "A previous installation was never completed. Please restart your computer to complete the installation and run setup again. "

    I have done this over and over again and it makes no difference.

    How do I fix this?

    Delete all the files in the C:\Windows\Temp folder, that should fix it, if not we'll try something else. :)

    I did what you said and it had no effect.

    I even tried it after restarting my PC.

    Anything else?

    Forgive my butt-inskiness Kevin but the poster is online and awaiting a response. I hope you don't mind.....

    Any problems in understanding the instructions via the link, just append to post and simpler instructions can be given.

    There is also this, for those that find allthe above suggestions do not work:

    Run setup again.

    =============
    Please when installing make sure nothing is running in background with exceptions of systray and explorer.

    Thanks goddez1, that hit the mark!

    I had to run wininit.exe from DOS in the end.

    Goddez by name, Goddezz by nature.

    :)

    No problem, most of the time I'm here is when I'm at work and have a little down time. Being a single father and homeowner I have very little free time at home.

    Glad things worked out.
