When IE Closes I get this error dialog:

    iexplore.exe Application Error

The instruction at "0x02415f6c" referenced memory at "0x2415f6c ". The memory could not be "read "
Click on OK to terminate the program.

Anybody know what causes this? If so how can I fix it?

downsider--Probably someone more experienced has solved this problem and will soon help.
What version of IE and Windows are you using? There are ways to "Repair IE" but they depend on the versions of those two programs.
Have you shut down all other programs before shutting down IE and getting this message?
There are lots of references to similar situations here

If you have a regular XP install CD (rather than a 'recovery' CD that some PC makers give you that will simply revert your system to the way it was when bought)

Click on start, on run, key in sfc /scannow and click OK. Note the space between sfc and /scannow. SFC (system file checker) will locate and replace any damaged or missing system files with a know good copy from the install CD.

If you have a 'recovery' CD, see if it contains a folder named I386. If not, check your hard drive for that folder. SFC can still be made to work but it requires a registry tweak to tell it where the I386 folder with it's files is located.
