I have IE 6.0 installed on my Windows XP computer right now. There is an article in today's New York Times (on the web) which states that IE 7.0 is available for downloading now. Can anyone tell me specifically how to download IE 7.0 and will such downloading mess up all the "Favorites" I have on my IE 6.0? Thank you very much.

Have a look in Internet Explorer 7 FINAL available which seems to cover it all.

To backup your Favorites, create a new folder Backup-Favorites, find your Favorites folder (the default location is C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Favorites) and copy the contents of the folder to the backup folder. Do not copy the entire Favorites folder - it can/will confuse IE to use the new location rather than the original.

IE7 RC1 picked up IE6's favorites with no problems on my system nor have I read of any widespread problems concerning favaorites with IE7.

Good idea to back it up.
