    Hi guys.

    I have WinXP SP1, IE6.

I installed Firefox after a friend recommended it.

Didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. Since then, any links posted to me in OE or MSN are inactive. The cursor changes when I rest on it, but the link will not open IE.

I opened Folder Options, and found that most files (that were) associated with IE, have now changed to the icon where windows has no association, and the "Change" option is greyed out.

Any ideas on how to repair this?

    Thanks.

Digitalis--Firefox apparently knocked out IE as
    1) Default Browser and
    2) File Associations with IE
#1 should be easy to solve. IE Tools|Internet Options|Programs tab|check the box Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser "|Apply|OK|Reboot. The next time you use IE, it should ask if you want it to be the default. Click Yes.
#2 is not hard but could be time consuming. Right click on any file with a file extension you want to open in IE (such as .htm)|Open With|Choose IE from the programs offered (or click "Choose Program" and highlight IE)|check the box at the bottom "Always use this program... "|Apply|OK. You will have to do this with one of each file type.
