I purchased this computer recently and it came with Norton's security. The problem is, my DSL provider has a security system and it's free. Norton as I'm sure most of you know require a purchased update or continuance of their services. How, after I have decided to not use Nortons can I remove it from my computer?

    Hello Bubba,

Use Add/Remove - there are a number of seperate entries for Symantec. Then use a reg cleaner to get rid of leftover registry entries: RegSeeker http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm I've done this a number of times on new systems.

You can also go to the Symantec site and look for removal tools for it.

    Regards - Charles

Well, I removed the Nortons finally and all hell broke loose. I have spent the last 2 hours on the phone to my ISP trying to figure out why I couldn't tie online. It seems that when I removed my Nortons, there was a ton of spyware and adware that was messing things up. I'm fine now but went through a ton of instructions.
