How to delete Q811493?

I go to add remove programs and it does not give me the option to remove it.

 

Is it listed under "Windows Hotfix" in Add/Remove?

Have you deleted any of the $NTuninstall...$ folders in Windows?

If you have deleted the backup, the only way to remove it is to do a repair installation from your original CD.

You could try reinstalling the hotfix to see if it puts an entry in Add/Remove, but if the backup files are missing, the uninstall will still fail.

Is there a specific problem that you attribute to the presence of this update?

 

How to delete Q811493

I recently installed the xp sp1 about a week ago and have seen my computer take a longer time now to run programs and just hangs for like 10 seconds some times. I have heard other people having the same problem and heard getting rid of this hotfix works but for some reason I dont have the option to remove this fix and one other one as well. The others I can remove except for 2 of them.

 

And yes it is under hotfix add/remove programs. It just doesnt give me the option for this one and 1 other hotfix for some unknown reason.
