    Hi Group
    win2000server with ntbackup
I have new tapes that will not be recognised. I get told there is no valid media.
The tape drive works with the old tapes but they need to be replaced.
The new tapes are the right ones for the drive.
Can anyone help with the steps to get them to the stage where they can be backed up to?
I'd like to get this back up and running
    Many Thanks

    TB

Depending on your backup drive, and system you use, you may need to format, or reformat the head of the backup tape(s) so they are recognised and accepted?
Have you run a cleaning tape through the drive in case of a head clog?
