I can sign into my Hotmail account on my laptop and use it without a problem -ie open, read and reply. However when I am using my desktop computer I can sign in but when I try to open an email I get the message below. If I sign out I get the message saying it cannot sign me out of MSN Account services or I get a page of script which I could copy and paste but if anyone thinks it would help.
The problem occurs with my partners email account too and it doesn't matter if I use IE or Firefox.

I have tried deleting all cookies - no help. Have updated Windows with exception of the latest IE pack as I don't use IE normally. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

After signing in while using the laptop - are you signing Out or just closing the IE Window?

    Hi Steve

I sign out of Hotmail using the sign out link - both on the laptop and on the desk top. The problem started when my partner signed into his eamil account on the desk top computer and then Hotmail crashed leaving him without the opportunity to sign out properly. I suspect it then wouldn't allow me in because he was still signed in. The computer is elderly and may have a few bugs although I do run AVG free checks and nothing shows. I am going away for the weekend and have just called the local computer shop who are going to give the PC a health check. Not sure if this wll help but worth a try! Having said that if they do find anything there is no guarantee that it will solve the MSN problem so any thoughts are still most welcome.

    Cheers

Well the problem has now migrated to the laptop! I just tried to access the email account and I got the following message when I tried to open an email

Please refresh your browser window. When you access your Windows Live Hotmail account from more than one computer, we ask you to sign in again to help keep your account private and secure.

The computer tower is now at the co:mad:mputer shop for a health check and it doesn't work when I refresh anyway - so stuffed at the moment!

    Any suggestions welcomed.

    Cheers

Try clearing your cache and rebooting and see if that helps. Or wait until tomorrow. Mail glitches like that happen every now and then.
