Hotkeys

    Installed an app that extensively uses hotkeys.
    It said "CTRL+ Alt + P" was already in use by another (un-named) app - please change the hotkey, which I did - no problems thereafter.
    Question : How did this app know that the hotkey was already assigned ? Is there a PC global registry of assigned hotkeys ?
