Can somebody please help me. I seem to have picked up some dodgy program or script that is booting hidden software/files. Ive tried everything I know to find the source but unable to do so. It never shuts down properly and I'm worried since I found some rogue dial up scripts and messages that have been dialing up and accessing addresses that I dont know anything about. One in particular being the FBI. Is the some diagnostic software I can use to track this down? Or can anyone help?
    Thansk in advance.

You'll want to setermine what programs and services are being run when you boot the OS or log in. The locations, and easiest method to do this, depends on the OS you're running. In addition, you'll want to see if any programs you later run are causing the problem. The easiest way to do this is to install a good software firewall, such as Zone Alarm or Tiny Personal Firewall. Then, when a program tries to access the internet, the firewall can inform you of the source of the packets, and then you'll be able to track it down.
