    Hi,

I just joined after Googling into a thread here about Spywareblaster

i live in Manhattan, do many things (Windows inside will not shut down, lol, I need a hotfix yet to be written): writer, online advisor, seriously interested in everything from politics to metaphysics, history. music, film, fashion, growing orchids....to technology. I never sleep.

i love puters. I have 3 systems---two desktops and an Alienware Sentia lappy, all running XP. I might consider W 7 when MS stops supporting XP and someone puts an Uzi to my head. But not a nano before.

I am mainly self taught beyond the basics and own my own
Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.

i name my HDDS. Cause they are people too.:)

I am happily moved to help others when I have that privilege, and, after my own personal learing curve, ended up helping friends with their systems for the pur challenge and the pur joy.

But I am a work in progress like everyone, and I might
might need help myself! I could remove something I need, say, after doing a HJT log I should NOT remove and mess things up!

So I am very happy to be here. :)

OK I might add that I lust for a system with the i7 ultimate chip. And I am not a gamer. I just want it, OK? Is that so wrong?

But for now, this go-to desktop with the
Presler chip (Pentium D@3.40, SATA controlled system, 3 GBs of DDR2....is OK. And just integrated video.

This system is a used Optiplex GX620 I got on eBay centering around the chip;I did internal backup with second HDD, upped the PSU to a good Antec, and added all the ram XP Pro can employ.
I feel no need to build my own rig.

I love testing new apps.....freewares especially, and unearthing fabulous ones, i.e., Revosleep, which puts your backup drive to sleep....it does not SPIN, and MyDefrag to name just two.

I wish everyone here a healthy, happy, malware free holiday! :D
