I am an agriculture research scientist who uses a PC for the following:
    - writing (letters, reports, papers)
    - graphics (for presentations and illustrations)
    - internet (mail, search engines)

I found your website while doing a search to find out how to solve a recent problem I've been having in booting my PC (loaded with Windows XP). I had to try many times before I could get it booted. I know it's a matter of time before the PC might konk permanently.....!
Although I have an MS-DOS boot disk, I don't know how to switch to Windows XP at the prompt.

Anyway, from your website I read that I should in fact prepare a floppy disk to boot Windows XP (rather than MS DOS)...which I have subsequently done. If the problem arises again tomorrow, I shall try this.
