Hello it's me again lol!! I have a 120gb maxtor hdd with 2 patition of 57.2GB each, and on one of the partions I have 33.41GB of music. I was wondering if it is normal to take 5 to 10 second or so to fully open the drive when clicked on? which when I click on any other drive it opens less than 1 second. If theres a lot of space used up is it suppose to take awhile to open that drive?

    Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!

It's not normal. Do you have the music in folders? Is there a lot of disk activity during this 5 seconds?
It this every time you open the drive, or just the first time after bootup?

to fully open the drive when clicked on

If you are talking about Windows Explorer then with significant numbers of files, you'll see speed issues when using "view" options that call for more detail. For instance, a folder of pictures if set to "list" will open quickly. "Detail" and it will be slightly slower. "Thumbnails" and you can go out for a meal.

I don't have a loaded music folder to experiment with but try changing your 'views' to various options and see if it has a dramatic effect on speed.

File fragmentation will slow things down too so regular defragging is a good idea if you are making changes to your drive's contents.
