I need some help. Every time I run a program and open a file, for instance fruityloops or dreamweaver and open a project I am working on, when I close out the program I get an Application error that says:

"The instruction at "0x0172935d" referenced memory at "0x01890008 ". The memory could not be "read ".

Click on OK to terminate the program "

It does not freeze the computer or anything and it only happens if I open a previous file not if I just open the program and close it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Rubix_Cube
Welcome to the boards. Do you have all the latest service packs installed?

    Hi again Rubix
I'm not running 2000, so take this as the wild guesses they are. Perhaps download and run Start Up Control Panel and see if you can stop any unneccessary apps from loading at start up?

Can you give us a few system specs?

R_C - Sounds like a buggy file in there somewhere.

First thing to try is open a cmd window and do
sfc /scannow to replace any obvious problem files. Then
chkdsk /r to make sure everything on the drive is as 2K wants it then reapply SP3.

If that doesn't stop the problem, take a look in your event logs. There should be entries there with more detail. If you click on the icon below the up/down arrows it will pop a text-only copy of the event to your clipboard. Paste the whole thing here.

Daizy - you really gotta upgrade from WFWG one of these days. :)
