Hello everyone, I'm a neuroscience researcher in Chicago. My work requires a lot of coding, cpu-intensive mathematical simulations, some 3D cad applications and a lot of 2D video. I need a computer that can do heavy number crunching like simulations that require lots of matrix transformations and heavily simulations that require massively repetitive calculations. I also do a lot of 3D animated graphics that tend to overload my system.

To put together the right PC I'll need plenty of advice and this forum has already given me a lot of help. I look forward to participating and conceivably one day even contributing!
