Hello from complete beginner..!!!

Hi Everyone,

I am female, in Scotland, UK, and have just turned 50 today.

As regards computer systems, I am an absolute beginner, and a little bit slow on the uptake too, so please bear with me.

I have been happily using my PC, with not a lot of thought to how things work, in the engine, so to speak, and now it has developed problems, and I am quite lost, and don`t understand either what`s wrong, or what to do about it.

I`m hoping that some experienced members with good patience can perhaps help me work out whats` wrong with my poor PC.

Welcome to the board Spidercat! There are lots of helpful people here who will walk you through any problem that you have. They have tons of patience also. I'm sure somebody will be able to get you back on track soon.

thanks so much for replying so quickly.. my next problem is I don`t know which section to post my problems...

Errors appeared with Google desktop, and it said I should remove it
AVG has highlighted changes..
I am having bizarre broadband problems, I can`t access my gmail account unless I load it on Basic HTML
I can go online to , for example, facebook, but then can`t do anything, but I can still upload images to facebook.

I am so limited.. TalkTalk have checked my line and say it is ok, but ther are dfinate problems...

Which topic section do you think I should post my problems in...?

You're welcome. I would have put it in General Internet, but sometimes you just have to guess an start there. The moderators will move it if they feel it's better in another place.
