I have decided to junk the Presario Windows 98 previously mentioned here. I want to recycle it. The recycle people say "remove all personal and other items "
from the harddrive before shipping. Can anyone tell me how to do this or send me somewhere for info? Thanks, alf

The most secure way is use a program that writes zeros to the entire disk.
It's called a "low level format " and takes several hours, maybe overnite.
Some (e.g. abit) motherboards come with that utility on a CD.
If you're not interested in that much security, an alternative is use a linux installation CD to partition and write a linux file system to the drive, and then use fdisk to repartition it for DOS and then use format to finish the job.
