hard disk error

    my windows xp crashed and i recieving error when start disk error.
    after then i try install new windows and tried format but only 16 percent then stuck after that i tried to delete the partition and create new partition and tried format again only 24 percent formated and message appear system halted now i m reciving error in startup screen

    try f1 contineo or del for setup
    how can i fix the hard disk it seems my hard disk partion corupted or can recognize so help me out how can i fix it thanx...

    I don't think that your drive is corrupted - more likely it has failed or is about to fail.

    Go to the Maxtor site and download their disk diagnostics software and run it - that should give you a clear picture of the state of the disk.
