M$ has a lot of tricks.
When I open OE (5.50.4133.2400), my address book is OK. When I want to send mail (and click "Toâ€), two thirds of it is missing. I open OE and check "Address Book" "“ the same two thirds of it is missing. Actually, I can see two address books at once: one is in OE and the short one in "To ". Then I close and reopen everything and see the same pattern.
    Them furry gremlins again?

    Hi Yurka
Are you running 98 or 98SE?

    For Windows 98

Click "Start ", then "Run ". Remove whatever is in the box and type in "sfc ". Click "OK ".

Click "Extract one file from installation disk."

In the "Specify the system file you would like to restore" box, type "wab32.dll" and then click the "Start" button.

In the "Restore from" box, type in "C:\windows update setup files"

In the "Save file in" box, type "C:\program files\common files\system" and then click "OK ".

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the extraction process and then restart your computer.

    For Windows 98 Second Edition

Click "Start ", then click "Run ". Type "sfc" in the box. Click "OK"

Click "Extract one file from installation disk ".

In the "Specify the system file you would like to restore" box, type "wab32.dll" and then click "Start"

In the "Restore from" box, type "d:\win98" where d is the letter of your CD-Rom drive. Make sure you have your Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition CD-Rom in your CD-Rom drive.

In the "Save file in" box, type "c:\program files\common files\system" and then click "OK ".

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the extraction process and then restart your computer.

    Blatantly ripped off of here.

Neither; it’s Wme and I did not have a chance to check whether those tricks would work. I'd copied "abook" file in *.wab, *.Idif, *.cdf formats throughout my PC and imported one of them. Many addresses in my email list got duplicated and I had to delete them, but I got many back and now they all show up.
I saved your advice for possible future gremlins’ attacks.

Daizy.....Great Googa Mooga!!! I spent an agonizing time trying to tell someone how to extract a file and replace a corrupted one. With a flick of your wrist you did your magic. We are unworthy....

BTW did you see the magic Brett put on someone by deleting a registry entry? Shazam!!
