I run Windows Xp on my laptop (as well as 2000 pro, but I don't use it), which connects with the server (Linux). My laptop sometimes will decide to freeze at random moments. Right now, the server is down, but I am getting a new one (yay!). Any suggestions?

Are there errors in your event logs at about the time the freezes happen? Hard to go anywhere with this one without more information.
