    Hi Everyone,

I've got a problem with Scandisk in Win98SE. I tried running the Maintainance Wizard and it ran Diskclean, got to Scandisk and froze. I pushed CTRL/ALT/DEL and the screen went blue and said computer was busy and to hit any key to return. Hit a key and the screen turned black except for a little spot where I saw the cursor. I shut down and rebooted in SAFE Mode. Ran Scandisk, showed no errors on drive. Restarted, ran End It All, and tried Scandisk again, only to have it freeze again. Restarted, ran AVG antivirus, came up clean. Rebooted in DOS and ran Scandisk from there, and came up with no errors. Rebooted back to Win98SE, ran End It All and ran Scandisk again. Froze again. Running out of ideas. All other programs seem to work fine, cleared all Temp files and Cookies, problem remains. Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated.

Well obviously end it all is not ending everything.
The solution is to boot to safe mode, run scandisk and disk cleanup and defragt there as intended and forget about using enditall as a shortcut .

Thanks for responding Pete. I figured out the problem. I was inadvertantly running 2 anti-virus (AVG & Computer Associates, CA) at the same time. The CA program was downloaded with an online protection package from my ISP, SBC Yahoo. I un-installed both and ran Scandisk and it worked fine. Then I re-installed AVG and ran Scandisk, worked fine. Problem solved!!
