I just got ahold of a Laser 486SX with Win95 that was giving error: vnetbios.vxd missing or corrupted at C:\Windows on startup. Booted to safe mode, found it in the recycle bin and restored it. It went to C:\windows\system. Reboot, same error. Back to safe mode, copied to C:\windows. Reboot, same error. OK, I'll get a bootdisk, then reinstall windows. Now cd:rom drive not found. OK, I'll get drivers on floppy and install. Oops, now floppy won't read and the light never goes off. Trying to take this 1 step at a time so, what should I do to get floppy working again?

    Dave,

Did you check the cable on the floppy? At one time, I had reversed the cable on mine and came up with the same problem. You may want to double check that connection.

    MM,

That was it. Thanks!! I thought for sure I had put them back right. The MoBo side is outlined to show the indentations on the connector and I put the red stripe towards the power supply leads on the drive. Obviously, the wrong way. :D
