Please tell me what I could have done to wipe out ALL of my passwords. Whatever I did I didn't mean to and now I don't even get the option to save a password when I do manually have to enter it.

I just did notice it when I went to one site that usually does an auto log in when I simply type the first letter.

I went to the Tools\Options\Security tab earlier today to see if I had allowed an incorrect password to be set and now they are all GONE and none of the sites will even ask me if I want to save a password with Password Manager.

    Thanks.:(

Do you have check mark next to: Remember passwords for sites?
I don't know if it makes any difference, but this website has no information about me, when I login each day. It will keep the information for the entire day, but will have forgotten everything, although I don't exit, and I have a check mark next to "Remember me ". Other sites remember me, but don't login, which is fine, while other sites will log me in.
Honestly, I don't know what you could have done other than delete all passwords. There are two buttons, one for single sites, and another for all.
I, even have the Always remember passwords. Not!

Well, I have no idea what the problem was and after reading everything and checking everything I shut both Thunderbird and Firefox down.

When I re-started everything was fine. Now isn't that strange?

Thanks for your time once again.

    Pat:)

I know I have asked before, but do you have your browser set to delete private data on close? This site uses cookies to remember your login. If you have the browser delete cookies on close, or return cookies on close, then that is why you have to log on this site on each access.

    Ramona,
I know about the Private Data. I have set it to delete only the Download History, an excellent feature in view of the problem that one gets into using the various suites. And, Cache. If deleting Cache causes the problem, then I don't stand a chance.
I am using Safari for windows, and, so far, I never had to enter the username/password for this site. It beats me where they are keeping the Passwords (in AutoFill?).

Cache would have no effect. What about your cookies? Do you accept all cookies, and do you keep them until they expire?

Yes, I do. Of all the sites which I visit, there is no password saved, at least in Firefox. There are several cookies, and the expiration date for the password cookie is for one year from now, or so. That's what is so confusing. And, to add to it, I don't have the issue with Seamonkey, or Safari for Windows, or NS Navigator9.
I will keep an eye on this. I, frequently, use ccleaner, which is set to delete IE cookies, and windowsbbs was one of them. How in the world I get cookies in a browser which I never use, is another matter.
Perhaps, ccleaner goes after more cookies than IE's. The fact remains that I check to save the password, for this site, and there is no password in PM. I have all the complement of passwords for ufaq.org and sillydog.org.

I am using Gran Paradiso, i.e. Firefox3.0a5. It prompted me to enter username and password, but all I needed to do was to enter the first two letters of my username, and the entire think came up. This is pretty much like sillydog.org and ufaq.org which don't log me in, but present me with the save info. And, the username/password was in the manager, unlike Firefox2.0.0.4 which did not have it.
However, the options for cookies were: till they expire, which is selected, beside when I close Gran Paradiso, or ask me every time. The nearly 10 cookies have different expiration times. The one for username and password expires nearly one year from now, but was not present before opening the site. Some at the end of the session. One in 2038.

Very clear once you look at the Applications Tab.
