Fingerprint Reader not detected

    :( Hi...I have recently purchased hp pavillion dv4-1414tx notebook. just after ten days suddenly while my laptop woke up from sleep mode....its fingerprint reader didnt get deteceted. I have tried everything i could do but????i reinstalled the digital persona fingerprint software as well....and also did the system recovery....but dont have anythiny for fingerprint hardware in device manager as well. CAN NY ONE PLZ HELP...PLZ

    Do you use the fingerprint reader? I avoid it like the plague. It's good at locking you out of your own system and anybody else that tries to help you :D If I come across fingerprint readers at work, I disable them.

    [A Helpdesk Support person at work had one, he was locked out because he only had ten fingers :D]

    I suggest you ditch it if possible.

    I used to *love* my FP reader... I will have to buy a new one since I went 64-bit (Microsoft gives everyone a good example by not having 64-bit drivers for their hardware :mad: )

    Now, I never used it to log onto my machine, I used it for the gazillion Web sites that I use that require authentication... nice & easy.

    Oh, and *if* you use an FP reader to access Windows you can still just type the password at the login, so no chance you will be locked out.
