    Hello,
since a couple of weeks I am unable to correctly download any file type larger then approx 50Mb.
The download window shows correct progress, up to the size of what the actual file should be, but after the download is finished, I always find the size of the downloaded file to be less then what it should be, and of course I cannot open it.

I have Win XP sp1, a router, plenty of HD space and memory, a fast pc, no downloadmanager, ADSL internet connection, Norton antivirus, anti-hacker software; my laptop (same software) connected to the same router works ok!!

Please advise, any usefull help will be very much appreciated (short of having to re-install win xp ...:))

Disable Norton AV and try a download.

I don't know what your "anti-hacker" software is but disable it and try a download.

If either of those work, you'll at least have identified the culprit.

    Hi Brice3010,

    welcome.

Suggest you try a different browser, i.e. Mozilla (www.mozilla.org).

Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing helped; I finally got so impatient that I salvaged all mail and doc files from c and performed a "format c" and reinstalled win xp; works fine now..

    HI Brice3010,

Thanks for the update. It will help someone else decide what to do.
