I don't know what happened, I was having some problems and I reinstalled Windows ME and now the only things I can click on are My Documents, My Briefcase, My Computer, Internet Explorer, My Network Places & picture files.

Everything else I get this message: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

What do I do? I can't properly reinstall Windows because I can't my darn D: drive to recognize there's a disk in there.

Please help me I'm desperate! LOL

    Hi,
It appears that you ran the reinstall from Windows. You should boot to the Windows CD and run Setup from there. It is also suggested that you not just restart the computer with the CD in the drive, but to shutdown completely and start it back up again.

When you are asked where to install Windows, choose C:\Windows, this will reinstall over the current system.

A reinstall will only work if the registry is sound, although your problem sounds like it is in the shell.

If the reinstall still won't work, you could install to another folder (example, C:\Windows000), then you will need to backup and reformat or reinstall your applications again.

    Matt
