Ok my windows Xp is like a local server i use to test my PHP/mysql etc scripts on it and what annoys me is apache and mysql start up when the computer is turned on which makes the time in which the computer starts up to take longer. I know you can remove keys or something but how do i make it so these 2 programs wont auto open when i turn the computer on?

Also i ran window washer on my machine and now when i turn the computer on it says

Cannot find c:/program (something like this)
    any ideas.

    Hello Lionheart,

Start > run > type msconfig and click enter > startup tab and uncheck the programs that you don't want starting on bootup.

First *somthing like this* is not good enough - please note the exact wording when asking for advice.

Bring up the hard drive and double click on Program Files - is there a folder called WindowWasher? I don't run it, so don't know the exact title that the install creates.

    Regards - Charles

BTW: You may get a cautionary message from one of the mods about meaningful titles for threads -please heed, I just happen to have answered a post on this board and clicked on yours.
