favorites won't add

    I have been trying to add a site to favorites in IE7, and get the response that it already exists, but it will not show up on the list of favorites.
    I have tried deleting multiple other favorites to see if there is a maximum number of favoritesbut it doesn't matter.
    Is there a way to increase the number of favorites(never saw that problem before) or any thoughts?

    There is a max number you can have..As I recall its around 750....Do you have anywhere close to that many?

    No I had about 12.
    I found a clue as to how to solve in one of the Vista references books, by hitting shift-D while clicking on Organize favorites. I found the missing favorites separate from the Favorites folder itself. I move them there and now they show up.
    Why they were put there- out of sight of the favorites menu- I don't understand but at least I can get them in the right locations now.
