Externall HDD prob

    I have an IBM T23 laptop, with an Ultrabay for my CD-ROM, this works fine. I have just been given an external 30Gb HDD by IBM (support problems, their way of saying sorry) that fits in the ultrabay. Now BIOS has reconised it, W2000 has, it has a driver, no conflicts etc. But how do I use it ? When I go to my computer I dont get a D drive, like I do when I plug in the CD ROM in exactly the same way. ANy ideas ?
